The amount of transactions of UNIStream in Uzbekistan soared to $787 mln. in 2008, a 88-percent growth against 2007 when the system processed the volume of remittances worth $419 mln.
The system experts estimate that the UNIStream market share in the republic exceeds 22 percent. The leadership believes such a high growth rate is due to the intensive program to develop partnership network in whole entire Asian region including Uzbekistan.
“In 2008 we actively developed our partnership component in all directions, including the CIS and globally. We have succeeded in reaching great results in the Asian corridor particularly,” the CEO for UNIStream, Souren Hayriyan said.
He reported in Uzbekistan itself the number of partners grew to 8, and ,as a result, the network doubled from 300 to nearly 600 service pоints. The system operates in 187 cities and settlements across the country.
Hayriyan said that since Uzbekistan is one of the CIS principal countries generating labor migration, the system will keep intensifying its business activity in the country.
